1882: Storm and flood hit Bombay, India leaving about 100,000 dead
1912: The United States Marines invaded Cuba for the 3rd time

1913: The Dutch Disability law took efect
1931: Jules Renkin became the 1st premier of Belgium

1933: The Gold standard was abolished
1942: The United States declared war on Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania

1944: King Victor Emmanuel of Italy renounced his throne for his son to take over
1946: fire accident killed 61 at a Chicago hotel

1953: Denmark adopted a new constitution

1965: Lopez Arellano became the president of Honduras
1976: Teton Dam burst killing 14 people and causing a damage of about $1 billion

1977: a coup took place in Seychelles  
 
1979: Seychelles adopted its constitution
1993: Mariah Carey got married to Tommy Mottola
2011: Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer at the 2011 French Open
