RELATIONSHIP TIPS
Things Guys Should
Avoid When Trying To Get the Attention of a Lady They Like
1) Being Too Available on Phone: An
inexperienced guy thinks if he talks for hours on phone with a girl, he will
become more of a ‘boyfriend material’ to her. This notion is very wrong as the opposite
will actually occur and she’ll lose respect and interest for you. This is as a
result of the fact that you have made yourself too available, too easy and you
have given her

MUST READ!!! THE THOUGHTS OF A CONCERNED NIGERIAN ABOUT GOVERNOR AMBODE’S NEW POLICY ON HAWKING
ARREST THEM ALL......Spartacus Ambode
In fulfilling his thoughtless implementation, over 100 hawkers have been arrested. I am sure none of them, will be able to pay N90,000 as an option, therefore, 6 months in jail is certain for them, except the 'Incorruptible' KAI officials do not hesitate to collect N500 and 2 plastic bottles of chilled ....VIEW DETAILS

NIGERIAN BILLIONAIRES: AN EVIDENCE OF AN AILING TERTIARY EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
Tertiary education
generally culminates in the receipt of certificates, diplomas, or academic
degrees. It is in fact a rudder that directs the course of an unrefined
ordinary man into civility, seemliness and elitism. As a result, the quality of
education being dispatched at the tertiary level vastly determines the
competence, dexterity and prospective success of the hoi-polloi in any nation.
It
is however, disheartening to that the so called “giant of Africa” is indeed
dwarfed and austere in its educational sector especially at the tertiary level.
This article is motivated by the recent dispel of post-utme exams in Nigerian
universities. Concomitantly, It is not a far-fetched fact that 80 percent of
Nigeria’s billionaires had their tertiary education outside the shores of this
country. I will sight three Nigerian billionaires as a paradigm. Aliko Dangote,
the richest black man had his tertiary education at Al-Azar university in
Egypt, Mike Ishola Adenuga, the second wealthiest Nigerian studied in two
American universities; Oklahoma and pace universities respectively, our very
own Folorunsho Alakija, the third richest woman of African descent virtually
had all education in U.K and U.S where she studied secretarial studies and
fashion designing respectively. It is evident that the quality of education
that has been instilled in these successful billionaires is no doubt a vast
impetus for their mickle exploits and weal. In sharp contrast to this, the
richest South African: Johann Rupert studied in South Africa where he bagged
his degree.
It
is quite ignominious and unsurprising that only one Nigerian university is on
the list of best Ten African Universities. The most shocking of this mediocrity
is that the best Nigerian university is ranked 2,027th in the world
rankings. No wonder Harvard’s budget almost equals the entirety of Nigeria’s
annual budget of which 25 percent is allocated to greedy and finicky
politicians as allowances and salaries.
Imminently, Nigeria
needs to pyrotechnically restructure its educational system particularly at the
tertiary level in order to develop qualitative and world class elites that will
be at the avant-garde of driving the future of Nigeria’s economy into
prosperity and exuberance.

THE SURE RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Most times when we hear or see
the word recipe, the first thing that comes to our mind is ‘recipe’ in terms of
ingredients and instructions for cooking. The recipe (ingredients) being discussed here
refers to a plan, procedure or guideline to achieve a desired result which is
‘Success’ in this case and it should be noted that success does not necessarily
connote ‘money’ as we can achieve success in several areas of our lives i.e.
academic success, marital success, career success, financial success, etc.
Success can be defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Achieving
success is not a day’s job and it requires lot of planning, commitment as well
as the conscious effort of whoever aspires to be successful and with the right
combination of ingredients, the sky will be our starting point towards
achieving success. There are 4 key 'ingredients' which if appropriately combined
will go a long way in helping us achieve success. They are:
1)
Hope: As simple as this word seems, it is so powerful because it is the 1st
major step in our quest to be successful. Hope can be defined as the belief or
expectation that something wished for can or will happen. Success starts from
the mind and it usually begins with the dream that whatever we want can come
true and this is the place of hope. As students, career builders, academicians,
etc. we hope to succeed in our respective fields and this starts with believing
that it can happen.
2)
Faith: This is the next phase after hope. While hope is an aspiration, Faith is
a conviction. Faith can be defined as a feeling or belief that something is
true, real or possible, without necessarily having any evidence of its
occurrence. It is biblically defined as the substance of things hoped for and
the evidence of things not seen. Faith takes you a step closer to success from
where hope leaves us. While hope helps us see the possibility of certain things
happening to us i.e. success, faith makes us acknowledge ourselves as
beneficiaries of that which we hope to achieve.
3)
Work: If we limit ourselves to the first 2 steps, we would just be building
castles in the air as it is even confirmed by the holy book that faith without
work is dead. Work can be defined as the effort expended on a particular task.
It should be noted that this effort refers to a fusion of physical, mental and
spiritual efforts.
The
physical effort refers to the conscious action in terms of hard work devoted to
carrying out a task.
The
mental effort refers to the creative thinking about ways to improve one’s self
in order to accomplish a goal.
The
spiritual effort refers to the place of God in terms of our relationship with
him.
The need for a thorough understanding of the
place of work in our lives as humans cannot be over emphasized.
4.
Diligence: This last step is very important and most people tend to ignore it
thinking the first, second and third concepts are more than enough to achieve
success. It is never just enough to work and expect success as the manner in
which you work is highly important, this is the place of diligence. Diligence
can be defined as earnest and persistent application of effort to a task, it
refers to not just what you do but also the manner and devotion which you put
into doing what you do. Our level of diligence determines how far we will go.
In summary, as important as each
ingredient listed above is, they cannot function effectively individually as a
proper fusion of the 4 of them will be required in our quest to be
successful.

IT'S ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS
UNDERSTANDING THE TRUE MEANING OF RELATIONSHIP
By
nature, humans are programmed to seek endless relationships with different
kinds of people. Relationship in its most basic form can be defined as the
condition of being connected or associated with something or somebody, the
natural tendency for humans to constantly seek relationships implies that we
are involved in at least one type of relationship or the other. The utmost type
of relationship anyone can be involved in is the relationship with the creator;
however, the main focus of this article would be on human relationships. There
are two basic types of human relationships and they are:
1. Interpersonal
relationship; this refers to the relationship with others i.e. friends, family,
spouse, etc.
2.
Intrapersonal relationship; this refers to the relationship with one’s self
The truthful fact is that the
success of the former is greatly dependent on the latter but a lot of folks do
not know this, so they screw up in every relationship they get into and try to
blame the other party for their predicament. Most people expect perfection,
total satisfaction and keep on placing demands on others without making any
contribution or investment. Now, the “BIG” question, what kind of investment
should be made? The golden rule in the bible answers this question expressly
and the instruction is simply to “do unto others what you want others to do
unto you”. In clearer terms, you should possess or be in the process of working
towards possessing whatever quality(ies) you desire in a partner. Many ladies
and even guys want a perfect partner without even making any attempt to meet
the standard of what they want. We should always have it at the back of our
minds that deep calleth unto deep i.e. you can’t be bad and expect to attract
good things, it doesn’t work that way.
The Intrapersonal relationship
(relationship with one’s self) is the degree of association with one’s self
brought about by a focus on knowing and understanding with the aim of
developing one’s personality. This type of relationship is practically one of
the most important associations or connections we should constantly prune and
nurture because the blessing of cultivating the intrapersonal relationship appropriately is
that it affects every other kind of relationship we find ourselves in positively.
Unfortunately, most people overlook the importance of this relationship to
their own detriment. Deeply embedded in this type of relationship are 4 key
concepts which are;
a.
Self-discovery; this involves the learning of what kind of person one really
is, it refers to an in-depth process of finding out what purpose one was
created for. It helps you to understand yourself which would in turn help you
understand others and relate with them better.
b.
Self-development; this comes after self-discovery and it simply means working
in line with findings gotten from the self-discovery phase in other to improve
on yourself and fulfil purpose which would in turn make you a better person.
c. Self-Esteem;
this simply means how you feel about yourself, it refers to the confidence in one’s own
worth. It should be noted that if the first and second concepts above are taken
seriously, it will affect how you feel about yourself positively.
d. Self-Image;
this is closely related to and works hand to hand with self-esteem, it refers
to the way you see yourself i.e. the perception you have of yourself.
Understanding these four concepts
above will go a long way in affecting any relationship we might find ourselves
in because for us to be able to understand people and get along with them well,
we must first understand ourselves.
Conclusively, relationships are
unavoidable and of great importance as they can make or break us. Hence, it is
important to build right kind of relationship with people and this begins with
perfecting or working towards perfecting the personal relationship we have with
ourselves.
