SUSPECT IN THE PULSE GAY CLUB SHOOTING THAT LEFT 50 PEOPLE DEAD AND 53 INJURED HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED




The gunman involved in the nightclub shooting that occurred at the Pulse Gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida has been reportedly identified. The attack which is being treated as an act of terrorism started after the shooter allegedly opened fire on  the club.
            According to police reports, the shooter was involved in a gun battle with an officer at the club and it got so bad that it resulted in a hostage situation which led to shots being fired by the gunman everywhere. The issue was eventually resolved about 3 hours later when a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team arrived at the scene after being tipped-off by some people in the club. He was later gunned down and the hostages were recovered. The incident left about 50 people dead and 53 injured.

            According to sources, the suspect has been reportedly identified as ‘Omar Mateen’, a 29 year old and an American Citizen from Florida with Afghan roots. However, authorities have not officially named the shooter.
