11 people were burnt to death on
Thursday, 21st of July, 2016, after a 14-passenger commercial bus
moving at top speed crashed and burst into flames on the Otedola Bridge in
Berger.
According to reports, the accident
occurred in the evening around 6pm after a tyre of a commercial bus burst while
the bus was moving at top speed, the bus somersaulted several times before it
finally crashed and burst into flames. 11 passengers comprising 8 males and 3
females died while 4 others were rescued by emergency officials and were rushed
to a hospital. Further investigations revealed that the driver also survived
the accident but fled the scene before the arrival of the officials.
