1796: The US State Department issued the very 1st American passport

1876: 5 people were killed after white terrorists attack Black Republicans in South Carolina

1963: The United States put a ban on all monetary transactions with Cuba

1975: Quake damages over 2,000 temples in Pagan Burma

1978: Alessandro Pertini was elected as President of Italy

1979: Congo adopted its constitution

1981: The bank, plane and steel industries were nationalized by the Prime Minister of France

1988: Stevie Wonder announced his plan to run for position of the mayor of Detroit in 1992

1989: Carlos Saul Menum became the President of Argentina

1992: Thomas Klestil became the President of Austria

1999: In Southern Nigeria, activists claimed to have captured and shut down 61 oil wells operated by Shell

2003: 116 people were killed after a Sudanese plane crashed

2007: The Boeing 787 Dreamliner was launched
