Following Serena Williams’ victory
in the Wimbledon women singles Championship against Angelique Kerber who was
responsible for her sister’s (Venus Williams’) disqualification at the semi-final
stage of the same competition. The duo teamed up to claim their 6th Wimbledon
doubles title on Saturday after beating Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3,
6-4. The win was their first in Grand Slam doubles since Wimbledon 2012.
