The Union Bank of Nigeria has
donated the sum of N30million to support the Nigerian team at the upcoming Rio
Olympic Games scheduled to begin next month.
While donating the money, the Head,
Corporate Communications of Union Bank, Ogochukwu Ekezie-Ekaiden, stated that
the money is for both the athletes participating in the event and the Nigeria
Olympic Committee. He further said that N25million is for the athletes while
the remaining N5million is for the Nigeria Olympic Committee’s logistics for
the event. According to him, “We see sport as one of the areas of our corporate
social responsibility. We are contributing our quota towards developing the
skills of our athletes.
