Two students, Adesola Ogunmefun and Funmi Odusina got
swept away by a massive wave at the beach during the celebration of a friend’s
birthday on Sunday, the 5th of June, 2016. The two ladies were
reportedly said to be graduates of Covenant University and post graduate
students at the University of Lagos.
According to the report, other swimmers at the
beach tried to rescue the victims and it was stated that Adesola Ogunmefun died
on the spot while Funmi Odusina died while she was being taken to the Lagos Island
General Hospital after being rejected by some private hospitals in the area.
