Due to the new ‘free-fall’ policy of
the naira, Nigeria and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has fallen off the
list of the 100 richest people in the world.
Aliko Dangote who was the 51st
richest man in the world as at March, 2016, fell to the 71st
position at the launch of the new foreign exchange regime on the 23rd
of June, 2016 and as at Monday, 25th of July, 2016; he dropped
further to the 101st position.
According to Bloomberg billionaires,
Dangote who was worth $15.4 billion which was approximately N3.05 trillion in
march, is now worth $11.1 billion which is approximately N3.3 trillion now,
thus making him richer in Naira but poorer in Dollars.
