MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS-NIGERIA LOSES N127BILLION TO CYBERCRIME YEARLY

The Minister of Communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu, said that Nigeria loses about N127Billion which is approximately 0.8 per cent of its Gross Domestic Product to cybercrime on a yearly basis. He made this known at the opening of the 26^th National Conference and Exhibition of the Nigeria Computer society in Abuja on Tuesday, 19^th of July.

He further stated that the Government has set up computer emergency response teams and has inaugurated the Cybercrime Advisory Council to combat cyber threats and facilitate the implementation of the Cybercrime Act, 2015.
