NIGERIAN TABLE TENNIS STAR, ARUNA QUADRI MAKES HISTORY AT THE RIO OLYMPIC GAMES


 
Aruna Quadri made history as the 1st African to reach the quarter-finals stage of the Olympic Games Table Tennis event on Monday, August 8, 2016.

This feat was achieved after the 28-year old player and world number 40 beat Germany’s Boll Timo, the world’s number 13 in 16 minutes at the Rio Olympic Games.

Prior to Monday’s game, Aruna Quadri defeated the world’s number 7, Chinese Taipei’s Chang Chun-Yuan, to book a place against Timo Boll. He will play against China’s Ma Long, the world number one later today, Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
