The 73 year old Oniba of Iba, Oba Goriola Oseni who was abducted by gunmen on the 16th 0f July, 2016 has been released.

According to Fatai Owoseni, the Lagos State Police Commissioner who confirmed the Oba’s release on Saturday night, five members of the militant gang involved in the abduction of the traditional ruler have been arrested by the Special Intelligence Response team.

The Militants initially demanded for N500 million and family sources revealed that they paid a ransom for the release of the Oba but the amount paid wasn’t disclosed. One of the arrested suspects however revealed that a total ransom of N15.1 million was paid for the release of the Oba in 2 batches; N12 million then N3.1 million.
